A Conceptual Model of Social Tipping Points

This note describes a conceptual framework for the assessment of social tipping points. The framework is underpinned by a hypothesis that small changes in climate variability can lead to nonlinear changes in out-migration rates, which may reconfigure the whole social-ecological system.
