Tatiana Castillo Betancourt

Tatiana Castillo Betancourt holds a double Master’s Degree in Economic Development and Growth from Lund University, Sweden, and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain. She completed her Bachelor’s studies in Economics and Business Administration at Universidad de los Andes in her hometown Bogota, Colombia. During her studies, she focused on applied econometrics and the interactions between gender inequalities, economic growth and human development. 

Before joining the Hugo Observatory, Tatiana worked at the UNDP Regional Service Centre for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where she supported the implementation of a quantitative study on the root causes of African migration to Europe. At the Hugo Observatory, Tatiana previously worked as the Project Manager for the MAGYC project and as Project Manager for HABITABLE, where she coordinated the project’s day-to-day activities and facilitated cooperation between partners. She is currently conducting her PhD  in the framework of HABITABLE ‘s WP8 on gender and social equity. She is additionally involved in WPs 10, 11 and 12.
